Greeting The Day
Let me touchwhat I have never touchedSing songs I’ve never heardDance with moves I’ve never feltAnd awaken this bodyto new exaltations.
Life comes and goesso quickly —The grass once greennow brownThe figs full againeatenChildren growand have their own.
And I, too, feel my body’s life force slowBut I won’t let her fallinto the dark abyssI will stretch her again this morningTouch what I have never touchedAnd sing the songs I’ve never heard.
